My pool is salt water

Im trying to to do this myself in a few days. Just to confirm, if im replacing the old filter with the same make and model, then i just unscrew the old inlet and outlet pipes, and screw them on to the new filter. Wont require any pvc glue correct?

If I have a digital on off and timer setting at the pump can I just take the off clip off completely so it stays on the entire 24 hours at the box manual timer? This since I’m using the digital at pump instead

I have 2 of these timers side by side. The timer for my pool filter would turn off but not on. Turns out the timer and motor itself are fine but the little metal rocker bar behind the timer wheel is worn down enough that the On pin slips over and doesn't trigger any longer. I haven't been able to find replacement parts for the T104R so I've been manually switching on my pool pump for a few weeks now. This morning I thought I would be slick and see if I could at least temporarily swap the plate with the metal rocker bar from my pool sweep timer and put it in my pool filter timer. I removed the timer wheel, removed the c-clip holding on the two remaining plates but my problem now is getting the spring clip that is between the two plates in the right position for the assembly to trigger the timer switch. I've tried to find any videos on removing and reassembling these parts but I can't find anything. I'm starting to think no one actually repairs these timers, they just replace them. Has anyone seen any tips on reassembling the plates behind the dial and how to set that spring clip, or am I just going to have to order a whole new timer assembly?

I have the same unit, bought with house. When the timer is tripped off the clock stops and as a result never turns back on. What am i missing?

I have a timer like that for outdoor yard lighting, but my lights have been removed. However the timer won’t stop unless I turn off the breaker. The breaker switch also controls my light in my pool so I have to leave that off too. The person who lived here before must have tied the outdoor lighting timer in with the pool light breaker.

Excellent videos!! You mentioned that you use chlorine tablets to maintain the chlorine level throughout the week, so it's necessary to chlorinate the pool weekly. My question is, how much chlorine (ppm) should you add to the pool to last the entire week before using the stabilizing chlorine tablets?

This product may work I have no idea, but if you follow the Troublefreepool method of pool care you will never have algae in your pool. High cya is usually the cause of Algae. The pool store tell you 1-3ppm or 2-4ppm of Free Chlorine. But if your cya is 100 you need way more chlorine than 2-4ppm to eliminate contaminants

I have a problem with clorine tables not dissolving in my hayward automatic clorinater when the water is cold what do I do . I don't want to use liquid clorine . Because I have a vinyl liner .

I can’t power it on. Tried pressing the reset button but does not fix the issue. Checked incoming power and that is fine. Is there any other fix for this?

Through the electrolysis you create two gasses. cl2, and H2. For the most part they will dissolve, but depending on what is in abundance, you will end up with gasses. The Cl that doesn't form HOCl, will combine with abundant H, creating HCl. Or it will bind to itself creating H2. That gas needs to go somewhere. Mounting the generator horizontal gives an opportunity for H2 pockets, and if the salt solution isn't in between the anode and cathode, you aren't going to do anything but wear them out. Mount it vertical and you will increase performance and life. I just replaced my IC20 that is 12 years old.

That stuff REALLY works!! Took 48 hours....but stains are gone! I got that brand on Amazon. Wear gloves...it burns a little.

Thank you, the manual is absolutely worthless for this issue. Tells you to hold stop/start button for 3 seconds, but neglects to tell you to push button once before the 3 second hold. Frustrating! Your instructions worked perfectly.
